In an announcement about his upcoming July 10 appearance at Freedom Fest in Las Vegas, Jan Jekielek, author of Killed to Order, relays the news that a top Taiwanese transplant surgeon has “just had his medical license revoked for funneling patients into China’s killed-to-order transplant system. Dr. Chen Yao-li brokered liver and kidney transplants to Chinese hospitals—and pocketed huge profits doing it.”
Chen’s crime and punishment were first reported earlier in the month. Taipei Times (June 3, 2026):
The Ministry of Health and Welfare has revoked the medical license of a surgeon for illegally brokering organ transplants for Taiwanese in China, in Taiwan’s first medical license revocation for such an offense….
Chen Yao-li was found guilty of making illegal profits of at least NT$14.66 million (US$466,211) for referring at least nine people to receive liver or kidney transplants in China, the Changhua District Court found last year.
He was sentenced to two years imprisonment, deferred for five years, and ordered to pay the state NT$5 million. [Out of NT$14.66 million?]
According to the ruling, Chen referred multiple patients for organ transplants in China between 2008 and 2016, working with multiple agents….
Although the Changhua County Bureau of Health considered Chen to have breached medical ethics, the Changhua County Doctors’ Disciplinary Committee took no action.
More than “one rogue doctor” outside of mainland China is exploiting the murderous system of forced organ transplants within China, Jekielek stresses. Chen’s case represents “the tip of the iceberg of a Chinese state-run forced organ harvesting industry that’s made doctors and major institutions complicit in both Taiwan and the US.”
Forced organ harvesting will be the subject of Jekielek’s talk at the 2026 FreedomFest.
