“If you want to protest, protest. But don’t actively impede and interfere [with officers of the law doing their job]. And certainly, don’t drive a 4,000-pound vehicle toward an officer.”
That’s Tom Homan on “Meet the Press” (at about the 5:09 mark in the NBC News YouTube video) talking about the prequel to the shooting of an anti-ICE activist driver by the officer that the activist was aiming her car at. She lost her life as a result of her action and her quarry’s split-second reaction. Homan is a former director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement who now has the title of border czar (if his position has a more formal designation, I can’t find it).
Doxing
Elsewhere, Homan reported “that the ICE agent who shot Renee Nicole Good is now terrified for his and his family’s safety…. Homan explained that the officer is struggling deeply with the emotional weight of the event while facing serious threats from the public…. ‘He’s concerned. I’ve seen today his face all over social media. He’s been doxed. People are threatening to kill him. So, he’s not good’ ” (MEAWW, January 10, 2025).
Doxing is the publicizing of previously private information about an individual, like the person’s countenance, name, and address. Merriam-Webster defines “dox” as “to publicly identify or publish private information about (someone) especially as a form of punishment or revenge.” The doxing is not just a form of punishment or revenge, though; it’s a means. The purpose is to enable someone to be more easily targeted so that he may be further harassed and, the accessories before the fact may hope, lynched.
Here is a good opportunity to exacerbate social strife in the United States, the Chinese Communist Party must have decided (PJ Media, January 11, 2026):
The CCP state propaganda outlet Global Times is participating in the leftist effort to demonize and dox the officer.
I did not link to the Global Times article so as not to participate in the doxxing—the article names the officer. But while the Chinese government outlet claims in the article that video of the event does not actually support the ICE account, it is noteworthy that the article does not include a video with it….
The point of this [i.e., of noting the Global Times commentary] is to emphasize that a foreign government, the government most hostile to the United States, is fueling leftist hatred against the ICE officer and doxxing him…. [The] CCP is deliberately trying to help trigger a terrorist uprising in the United States.
Another Global Times article, one that does not dox the officer, headlined “Mass protests reportedly erupt across the US following ICE shootings; Federal-state rifts, social divisions deepen in a polarized America: experts,” sees a “vicious cycle” triggered by “right-wing policies and violence provoking protests, which in turn spark further violence—potentially spilling over to other countries” (January 12, 2026).
The article concludes by citing an “expert” who warns that “the spillover of domestic extremism and violence could eventually turn America’s internal fractures into a major source of global instability, posing serious risks to the international order and worldwide economic security.” Here we have the Chinese Communist Party in full deflection mode.
The PJ Media commentator, Catherine Salgado, says that she wouldn’t be surprised if entities linked to China “were funding the paid protesters screaming about Good” in many U.S. cities.
