But that’s what this amounts to. According to a Daily Caller investigation, a defense contractor that supplies parts for the U.S. military and that the U.S. government consults on supply-chain security “is owned by an immigrant with extensive ties to Chinese Communist Party intelligence and influence agencies….” (“Owner of US Defense Contractor Making Fighter Jet, Missile Parts Listed as Chinese Intel Agency Official,” February 11, 2025).
The Department of Defense has awarded tens of millions of dollars in defense contracts for fighter jet, attack helicopter and guided missile launcher parts to S&L Aerospace Metals LLC, a New York-based company that serves on a Department of Homeland Security council on critical manufacturing. However, S&L’s CEO Jerry Wang—whose Chinese name is Wang Jue—has been identified as an official for multiple CCP influence and intelligence organizations in Chinese government and state media reports, raising concerns about the defense contractor’s connections to Communist Party elites—including Chinese dictator Xi Jinping.
Through an attorney, Wang denied any ties to “foreign political entities,” but did not deny being photographed at numerous Chinese government and CCP intel agency functions alongside high-ranking Party officials.
“Allowing someone with Wang’s background access to the inner workings of U.S. supply chains and critical manufacturing vulnerabilities is a glaring national security failure,” said L.J. Eads, a former U.S. Air Force intelligence analyst, after reviewing the DCNF’s findings. “It’s incredibly naive to think that the CCP is going to play by the rules when we hand them a front-row seat to our most sensitive industries.”…
The Daily Caller report provides a litany of details confirming Wang’s connections to the CCP and the “Chinese influence arm called the United Front Work Department.”
Maybe now that the problem has been identified, it can begin to be fixed. Representative John Moolenaar, who head the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party, says he is shocked by the Daily Caller intel that “individuals linked to the CCP United Front are in control of key U.S. defense contractors….”
Eads says that this kind of infiltration is possible because contractors “are largely expected to provide information about their ownership and potential foreign influence themselves, and there’s limited enforcement to independently verify or investigate those claims.”
He notes that the CCP could use someone like Wang (shown above) “to copy military components, map out supply chain vulnerabilities, steal intellectual property, and even sabotage critical manufacturing.”
This mole, Jerry Wang aka Wang Jue, slipped in under the radar because the radar had not been turned on. It’s hard to keep track of everything. But much of the information the Daily Caller provides is available in CCP publications and other accessible sources. Maybe there should be at least one government office with the job of looking at who all the military contractors are. Preferably, before they get contracts.
