One of the top appeasers in the world of the Chinese Communist Party, Klaus Schwab, is retiring—not right away, but by January 2027, maybe—as chairman of the board of trustees of the CCP-allied World Economic Forum.
The announcement of the slow-motion resignation follows allegations that the Forum has discriminated against women and blacks and an investigation of these allegations (“Davos forum founder Klaus Schwab to step down as chair of trustees,” Financial Times, April 3, 2025).
Schwab’s signal to the board of trustees that he would resign as non-executive chair of the board of trustees “came as a surprise” given he only transitioned into the job in the past few months, said one of the people with knowledge of the matter.
The forum’s annual conference in the Swiss resort of Davos has become one of the top events for business leaders and policymakers, playing a significant role in navigating political issues and promoting collaboration in global trade….
Schwab, 87, said he would propose his successor to the trustees’ board at the appropriate time. The German economist stood down as executive chair of the forum last year and was replaced by Børge Brende, who became chair and managing director of the managing board.
Shortly after Schwab’s resignation last May the Wall Street Journal published accusations of discrimination and harassment made by several Black and female employees against Schwab and other managers.
The investigation found that there were no legal violations “and did not substantiate allegations of misconduct against Schwab” but did find “leadership and management issues” or something.
Klaus Schwab is the same dude who, according to StoptheCCP.org, babbled that the Chinese government is “responsible” and “responsive” in a ballyhooed interview conducted by a CCP propagandist happy to be speaking with a fellow CCP propagandist.
The world has changed, Schwab said in the interview, which is full of such capsular wisdom.
“The world has undergone or is undergoing those transformations. And here, particularly the transformation from a unipolar to a multipolar world. China has to play what I call and is playing a responsible and responsive role in this new global setting.”
Schwab is also an enthusiast for “shared global future,” a favorite CCP envisaging (along with “bright future”). This glowing future, which the Party expects to be a China-dominated future, is now to be piloted without Schwab as wingman. Soon, well, soon-ish, in 21 months at the latest, maybe, he will be gone.
